WEEKLY NEWS: Debbie Wilford through in Champion of Champion Singles in a thriller over Petal Hore.
Debbie Wilford will travel to Hong Kong  for this years Champion of Champions event after getting home in a tie break against Petal Hore. Petal won the first set in a close tussle and then Debbie responded by easily winning the second set and then eventually the tie break. This will be Debbie's third time to represent at the Champion of Champions with her former appearances being Warilla, Scotland and now Hong Kong. Petal was looking to achieve her second cap at this level as she has managed a 16th in the World at her only appearance as a Singles player for Norfolk  two years ago where she contested the Champion of Champions in Scotland.
International News:   Carmen Anderson wins Bronze for Norfolk in World Champion of Champions on Norfolk.
Carmen Anderson really enjoyed her return to her home greens on Norfolk Island to contest the 2010 World Singles Champion of Champions. by winning a bronze medal.
Carmen was placed first in her section in the round robin format and proceeded directly to the semi finals where she was defeated by the eventual winner and champion Jan Khan from New Zealand.
Carmen's result will see her skyrocket up the World Rankings list where only points can be accumulated by contesting in the Champion of Champions, the World Cup and the World Singles Event.
Her Bronze medal will almost see Carmen into the top 20 - a remarable achievement considering that she has only contested one event out of all of  the qualifying events - whereas many of the players just above her on the rankings list have contested many, many competitions over a number of years. Congratulation Carmen.

Kids Bowls

Some of the students of NICS received an enormous surprise when they turned up for weekly sports day of bowling when Carmen Anderson, former World Champion, joined regular coaches Phil Jones, John Deadman, Kerry Roberts and Kitha Bailey.

Carmen helped all of the kids and gave individual tips to almost every child as they played their games. The children were very appreciative to be coached by such an elite player and they agreed that they had fun and learnt a lot from Carmen.

Much of what they learnt will be on display as the kids start their “Young Guns” bowls competition starting on Sunday at 11.30am.

Max and Mick - had a "great time"
